Mary Beth Clausen is the Director of Client Relations for the Morrissey Family Businesses in her hometown of Rockford Illinois. Mary Beth recently rejoined her family’s businesses, relocating from Shorewood, IL, where she had lived for over twenty-two years.

Mary Beth is a graduate of Marquette University, majoring in Clinical Laboratory Science. She became a stay at home mom when their 3rd child was born with a rare brain disorder, rendering him with severe physical and mental impairments. Focusing on the positives in her life, she became deeply involved in Joliet Easter Seals as a volunteer while her son was receiving therapy. She served on the Joliet Region Easter Seals Board of Directors for over 13 years, holding many positions including Chairwoman of the Board as well as Chairperson of several committees. She was also an agency speaker for United Way on behalf of Easter Seals. Her favorite volunteer activity, however was interviewing other families on a live local telethon, helping them share their personal stories.

Mary Beth’s volunteer experience in fundraising led her to a career at the historic Rialto Square Theatre as Director of Fund Development. While in this position she was responsible for the creation of a foundation board for the theatre, finalizing a capital campaign, managing a donor membership program and increasing the theatre’s Major Endowment Fund to $1M. She developed close relationships with board members, donors and business leaders alike.

Called back to Rockford by her family, Mary Beth is currently enjoying carrying on the good work, great reputation and ethics of her family’s three businesses. Learning the day- to- day operations of an accounting firm, human resources and consulting firm and a payroll processing firm is certainly a challenge, but a very rewarding one, working beside her father, mother and brother on a daily basis. She is enjoying re-familiarizing herself with her hometown and spending time with her husband, grown children and new granddaughter.
