Associate Board

The Associate Board of Easterseals is an inclusive group of emerging business, professional and civic leaders that is committed to Easterseals’ mission of “taking on disability together.” The Associate Board is united with Easterseals to change the way the world defines and views disabilities by making profound, positive differences in peoples’ lives every day.

The Associate Board is eager to open doors, build partnerships, and engage a new generation to support Easterseals. The board will take ownership of an annual marquee event, The Modern Classic, in partnership with the Boka Restaurant Group. Members of this board will share their individual talents and networks in ensuring the event will be a resounding success.

Quarterly Networking Nights
The Associate Board hosts quarterly Networking Nights throughout the year to allow its members to introduce new prospects to the Associate Board and network with current members. These events are a no-cost way to learn more about the Associate Board and Easterseals, while engaging with like-minded young professionals. This includes our annual “Kick-off” for The Modern Classic, the Associate Board’s primary fundraiser.

The Modern Classic
The Modern Classic is one of Easterseals’ three signature events and attendance is driven by the Associate Board and its members. The event attracts top culinary talent from renowned Chicago establishments, all with the goal of creating the best modern take on a classic dish, with attendees deciding which will be named The Modern Classic. Past celebrated chefs include: Stephanie Izard, Grant Achatz, Fabio Viviani, among many others.

This event is made possible through the generous support of Boka Restaurant Group co-owners and James Beard Restaurateur of the Year Finalists, Kevin Boehm (Easterseals Board Member) and Rob Kaatz.
