Staff Spotlight - Laura Sanchez

laura sanchez main picMeet Laura, our Program Coordinator for the Autism and Behavioral Intervention Services (ABIS) department! Laura is the youngest of six siblings and was born and raised in Mexico until the age of eight. Being one of many siblings, there were a lot of squabbles but so many fun and exciting times. When Laura was eight years old her family re-located to a small town called Raisin City in California, where, “There’s literally nothing but raisins!” After several years in Raisin City, her family moved to Kerman, California where Laura finished high school and went on to pursue college – completing her baccalaureate in Business Administration (B.B.A.) and Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration from California State University, Fresno.

Laura has a son, Arian who is very athletic and quite the little adventurer. They are always on the go, go, go! You will most likely find Laura and Arian playing football together at the park, catching sunrays and waves at the beach, or doing cartwheels and crazy jumps at SkyWalk Extreme Air Sports. Most recently, Laura has enjoyed taking Arian to his weekly swim lessons.

Laura has been with Easterseals Central California (ESCC) since April of 2017 and began as an Administrative Assistant for both the Marketing and Development department, and the ABIS department. In October of last year Laura transitioned in to the role of Program Coordinator for the ABIS department, to help jumpstart our services. Laura’s previous experience in the nonprofit community helped set the groundwork needed to establish, and expand, our autism services in Central California. “I love I am constantly in touch with such incredible clients who sometimes share stories of struggles and achievements. The fact I can help them receive the services they need makes me feel so good about the work I do.”

Laura has had a huge impact in the formation and growth of the services we provide, not only by providing her exceptional knowledge, talent, and skills, but also by maintaining and supporting our ESCC team. We are so grateful for Laura’s passion and persistent commitment to the organization. Thank you, Laura!

“Laura has been instrumental in the startup of our ABI Program! She has taken every audit and each new process and developed them to ensure the growth and quality we can all be very proud of!” -Scott Webb, Executive Director
