Staff Spotlight - Diana Vargas

diana mainMeet Diana, a Lead Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) based out of our Fresno Center. Diana comes from a blended family of eight and having five siblings, there was never a dull moment in her household. She was born and raised in Bakersfield, California but once she graduated high school she decided to further her education away from home, which brought her to Fresno, California at the age of 18. She pursued a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and was a member of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. at Fresno State University. In spring of 2017, she became the first in her family to graduate from a four-year university.

Today, Diana is a proud dog mom of two "small angels," Cordelia and Patricia. Her first-born Cordelia is a two-year-old Australian Cattle dog mix, and Patricia is a one-year old Shih-Poo mix. Diana enjoys daily walks and obedience training with her dogs. Diana is a lover of all music genres including country. She is also a regular at Applebee’s with her boyfriend for their date night every Friday. Diana is currently binge-watching American Horror Story on Netflix and loves falling asleep to the TV series Friends.

Diana has been with Easterseals Central California since February of 2018 and is a Lead RBT for the Autism and Behavioral Intervention Services (ABIS) department. As a Lead RBT, she is responsible for assisting the Program Supervisors in training any newly hired Behavior Technicians. Her positive attitude allows her to see the best in every client while allowing her to build a friendly relationship with them. Diana possesses patience and a positive attitude which helps her get closer to her goal of helping clients reach their full potential. Working with her clients every day and watching them reach their goals inspires her. As a Lead RBT, “It is so gratifying when a client learns how to say their first word, or when they mand for an item. It is motivating watching my kiddos learn and maximize their independence in their everyday life.”
