We're thrilled to share some good news from one of our service partners in Fresno...

Kathryn Wage, Founder and CEO,  announced this week at Fresno that the Center for Communications Skills will officially be changing its name to Aspire Speech and Learning Center as of October 1, 2017.  Mrs. Wage explained that the new name will reflect the evolving focus and standards of the company, adding, “Our vision is to provide exemplary, individualized therapy to create optimum results in life.”

The Center for Communication Skills was founded by Kathryn Wage in March of 1998. The company provides speech therapy services and groundbreaking neuroscience computer training for students with learning challenges. “Our goal,” said Mrs. Wage, “is to always push the envelope of services so that our community will have more access to private options for therapy and benefit from the same level of services that are provided in San Francisco and Los Angeles.”

Today the practice has grown to 25 full time and part time employees and serves more than 100 students a week, providing speech and language services and tutoring for academic challenges.

“As we approach our 20th anniversary,” said Mrs. Wage, “it is time to celebrate and highlight the new energy and knowledge driving our staff to provide excellent therapy that improves the lives of our clients.”  The company has added therapy services for people with myofunctional disorders, apraxia (motor coordination disorder) of speech, social learning disorders, and dyslexia. Therapists speak Persian and Spanish so that language is not a barrier.

“We love the name change,” said therapist Shannon Johnson. “Aspire Speech and Learning Center reflects the spirit and professionalism of our work.”

“Our mission is to create life-changing results in speech, language and education,” said Mrs. Wage.

Since 2005, the therapy center has been located in the California Learning Connection at 2505 West Shaw, #101, Fresno. Under the new name, the company will continue to work at this location to provide speech and learning services to the greater Fresno area. For more information call 559-228-9100.
