CELEBRATING EASTERSEALS: 100 YEARS OF DISABILITY SERVICES

EASTERSEALS BRINGS LARGE-SCALE CELEBRATION TO THE ROSE PARADE

rose parade float 2019Easterseals joins the Rose Parade party with its first-ever float, “Celebrating Easterseals: 100 Years of Disability Services.” As Easterseals kicks off its 100th anniversary of providing disability services, the non-profit organization is using its festive float to also celebrate the nearly 1.5 million people with disabilities Easterseals serves across the country.  With the start of a new year approaching, Easterseals invites everyone to resolve to “celebrate, not separate,” and help build a more inclusive future for the more than 61 million Americans living with disabilities.

The centerpiece of the vibrant floral display is a 20-foot birthday cake with 100th anniversary candles and images of people with and without disabilities. Playfully wrapped packages beside the cake highlight Easterseals’ breadth of exceptional services to make sure people with disabilities have every opportunity to live, learn, work, and play in their communities. Spinning pinwheels, colorful noise makers, confetti, and floral fireworks add to the festivities.

As a part of Easterseals’ mission to come together as an inclusive community to support disability services, the float will feature Easterseals clients from around the country (ranging in age from 12 years old to over 60 years old) alongside some of the Easterseals staff who provide life-changing services. The celebration serves as a snapshot of the diverse Easterseals communities across the nation.

The 2019 Rose Parade presented by Honda will air on January 1, 2019 at 8:00am PST and the Easterseals' Float will be seen on camera during the parade at around 9:35am PST.
