A dental clinic for all people with developmental disabilities is held several times a month at Meyer Hall in Winfield, KS. Individuals with Medicaid who are unable to locate affordable, timely dental services from a community dentist are welcome.
A local dentist is assisted by our nursing staff members. Our staff are experienced at providing dental care for individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with severe medical problems or challenging behaviors, and those in wheelchairs who are unable to sit in a regular dental chair.
Services include cleanings, fillings, extractions and fluoride treatments. Medication must be prescribed by the patient's primary care physician and will be administered by the R.N. at the clinic. Supervision must be provided by the supporting agency before and after the patient is seen by the dentist.
The clinic’s fees are private pay and are based on the actual costs of operating the clinic. The fee is typically significantly lower than what a community dentist charges.
Individuals or agencies interested in more information about services may email us or call 620-221-9431.
