Pam has been receiving services from Easterseals for over half her life. Since 2003 she has attended our adult day center which has grown and evolved. Today it is called The Center for Training & Wellness and serves close to 200 adults with disabilities ages 18 and up. It is a program where adults can go to make friends, learn new skills and obtain a job in a nurturing, safe and structured environment.
Amanda Benton, a teaching assistant in Pam’s class, has been receiving roses from Pam every day. “I saved the roses because it is a sweet gesture by Pam, and the roses brighten my day. Pam does the same with a smile or a hug.” Amanda with the help of other staff turned the rose petals into beautiful pieces of art that were sold in our holiday store. Pam was happy that the art raised money for Easterseals.
Pam lives at home with her mother, Suzanne. “Easterseals has been great for our family. Pam loves to attend the day center where she can hang out with her friends. She also receives In-home Medicaid Waiver services from Easterseals which provides all of us a little extra support at home,” says Suzanne.
