After a couple of postponements due to Covid, Easterseals Arkansas is excited to finally bring Arkansan of the Year to the Little Rock Marriott on March 15, 2022. The organization hasn’t been able to host its premier gala in person since 2019.

This year’s Arkansan of the Year honoree is Rick Fleetwood, a longtime Easterseals supporter known for his philanthropy throughout the state. The annual gala recognizes a distinguished leader who has given their time, talent and resources to improve the quality of life for Arkansans. Past recipients include key business leaders, governors and other high-profile individuals. Friends of Fleetwood attest that he is the epitome of what it means to be Arkansan of the Year.

Fleetwood has practiced a lifetime of giving. He began his commitment to a life of giving when he was growing up in Monette, Ark., in the northeast corner of our state. He was active in his church’s youth group, where he learned the importance of caring for his fellow man.

Rick served in the military during Vietnam and then found his passion caring for people with disabilities through his career at Snell Prosthetics and Orthotics. He joined Snell as a general manager in 1975 and retired as the company’s CEO in January 2020.
