My name is Teshia Fowler, and I am the Director of Waiver Services at Easterseals Alaska.
My responsibilities include oversight of operations and support to the Waiver programs through policy, enrollment, regulations, and all day-to-day activities. Other duties involve overseeing staff and providing guidance and training with their duties and responsibilities. The most important aspect of my position is ensuring quality services are provided to all our clients on a day-to-day basis. I strive to achieve excellence of care in all situations.
Prior to my working at Easterseals Alaska I was at the Arc of Anchorage for 8 years. During which time I was a Direct Service Provider, Group Home Supervisor, Case Manager, Team Leader II of Community Living Services and Residential Services Programs. In December of 2019, I transitioned to Easterseals Alaska where I began working as the Director of Waiver Services and I have been very excited for my journey here.
I am thrilled to continue my passion of working with individuals experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities. I have a special interest in working with children on the Autism Spectrum – due to my strong desire to understand the disorder and support all children to thrive.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I began working professionally in the Human Services field in May of 1998 as a Child Therapy Instructor II in Pomona, California. I relocated to Anchorage, Alaska in April of 2007. I am married with 2 adult children, and a grandmother of three!
