RICHMOND, VA, January 21, 2017
The 16th annual Easterseals UCP gala is a Richmond tradition that raises money to support local programs that connect children, families and adults managing disabilities and mental health challenges to meaningful solutions. The black-tie event will be held Saturday, March 19th at Dover Hall Estate starting at 6:00 p.m., guests will take part in a cocktail reception, silent auction, followed by a seated dinner catered by Mosaic, live auction and then party time with the band Vertical Dimension.
The signature Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt will take place during dinner, where guests have the opportunity to open their “eggs” that are designed by the fashion and design students at VCU. One of the eggs will contain a piece of jewelry valued at $3500. Over $1,250,000 has been raised for the summer camp program and other programs that provide support for all disabilities. This is the 60th Anniversary of Camp Easterseals UCP located in Craig County that has served over 30,000 individuals and families since it opened. The EGG event has raised over $450,000 to support camp scholarships for those families that can’t not afford the cost.
Live and silent auctions will take place with the Master of Ceremonies Bill Bevins and Shelly Perkins from START 100.9FM who have been longtime supporters of Easter Seals programs and events.
