2017 giving tuesday border

Giving Tuesday

During the month of November, Easterseals UCP is promoting giving and being thankful.  This year Giving Tuesday is on November 28, 2017.  It's a day to think about the children and adults with disabilities who need you, our programs, and donations.

Our programs support children at our Child Development Centers, Camps in North Carolina and Virginia, Afterschool Sites, Early Intervention Program, Mental Health services and more.  Our adults thrive to live, learn, work and play in our communities through Employment Services, Individual Community Supports, Adult Camps and Day Programs, and Mental Health Services.

Stories of Hope at Easterseals UCP

Emma took her first steps just before Mother's Day.  A gift her mother will never forget.  The dedicated staff at Summer Moore Child Development Center worked with Emma, now two-years-old, diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy every day developing her coordination and muscle tone.  Finally she took her steps and she continues to make progress.

Adam landed his dream job after years of struggling.  Thanks to the Employment Services staff, Adam, age 19, diagnosed with intellectual disability and impairments in math, received job training and support.  A coordinator helped Adam with job skills, interviewing, managing his money, and maintaining transportation.  Adam is happily employed as a mechanics helper at Taylor Automotive in Sanford, NC.

Jayden and Ariana, siblings who didn't have a home, were adopted by Easterseals UCP Foster Care Parents.  The North Family opened their doors to the pair, while the children's family worked out issues in the courts.  Through it all Easterseals UCP provided support around the clock to make sure the children and the North Family had the support they needed.  Now, Jayden and Ariana have a place to call home -- for good.

Stories like this are possible through community support and donations. Please Donate today through #GivingTuesday.
