Virginia Early Childhood Outreach Programs

EI Virginia

Annually, Easterseals UCP provides service coordination, direct education and developmental assessments to more than 600 infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities and their families in Roanoke and surrounding areas.

Services occur in the home/daycare and use a parent/caregiver coaching model.

EI VirginiaService Coordinators assist families in identifying developmental goals for their child and support families in accessing resources to help reach those goals both through and individualized family service plan and by connecting them to resources in the greater community. Easterseals UCP offers help to families in coordinating therapies, tracking developmental progress in all areas, ensuring satisfaction with services, and providing information for other programs such as Medicaid waivers and special education services.

Developmental Educators work hands on with children and families toward outcomes listed on the individualized family service plan, coaching families in how they can help their child best meet the identified goals. Educators complete developmental assessments to track progress in all areas of development and help determine whether a child continues to need extra support.
