A carnival, robots, and more, at the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Inter-Generational Center

respite

On Saturday, November 19th, Easter Seals Respite Services hosted a carnival-themed event at the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Inter-Generational Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. The event was an excellent opportunity for children of all abilities to come together to play, learn, and have a little fun. Nearly 20 children attended the event.

Activities for the day included face painting, arts and crafts, and a very special robot spectacular. A fun exercise class was also held in the Richard & Rae Swirnow Center of Excellence and Training for participants and volunteers to take part in.

Each child was paired with a volunteer who provided friendship and assistance throughout the day. Volunteers included Easter Seals staff, members of the community, and employees from some of our corporate supporters and champions of the Easer Seals respite program. Parents of the children who attend the monthly respite events appreciate the support and relief the monthly Respite program provides.

Easter Seals Respite Program provides a range of support and enriching experiences for children with and without disabilities, from wounded warrior, military, and civilian families.
