Thursday, June 2, Bob Simpson, Vice President, Military Veterans Operations, Easter Seals Serving DC | MD | VA, received the Meritorious Service Award from the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV). The award was presented at the 2016 NCHV Annual Conference at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C. Bob Simpson, along with Lisa Reeves, President and CEO, Easter Seals Serving DC | MD | VA, and other members of the Veterans Operations team, also attended the ceremony. 

As the Vice President of Military Veterans Operations, Bob was instrumental in the grant process for funds received from the U.S. Department of Labor to provide services to homeless Veterans in Maryland's Baltimore, Prince George's and Montgomery Counties; Northern Virginia areas of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties; and Washington DC. The veteran's program at Easter Seals provides services through the Veteran Staffing Network (VSN), Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP), Homeless Female Veterans & Veterans with Families (HFVVWF), and the Incarcerated Veterans Transition Program (IVTP). 

The Easter Seals Veteran Employment Program is committed to connecting with and providing support services for military service members, veterans and their families. Our goal is to provide job training, counseling and placement services, (including job readiness, literacy and skill training), to expedite the reintegration of all veterans into the workforce. We are helping veterans to develop skills for specific employment and eliminating barriers to employment.
